The first annual Trygve Lie Symposium on Fundamental Freedoms will take place in New York on Thursday 25 September.
25/09/2008 :: The Norwegian and the Swedish Foreign Ministers will co-host the symposium, which will focus on the state of freedom of expression – access to information as a driver of social development.

The panel will include the Foreign Ministers of Norway, Sweden, Indonesia and Morocco and Vice Ministers from Qatar and Mexico.
Two UN Special Rapporteurs and representatives from non-governmental organisations and media will also take part in the discussion, which will be moderated by Warren Hoge (IPI).
